I keep needing eyes for characters, so now I have human and cat eyes, with shape keys defining the pupil. Using medical and now veterinarian diagrams for general dimension and structure of cornea, sclera and iris.
This procedural eye has been constructed using anatomical references.
The pupil can dilate through shapekeys both horizontal and vertical component independently.
A recent #WIP that is using the eye asset.
The iris texture uses UV texture coordinates, which wrap around the pupil adjusting the texture for free.
I now have a reusable customizable cat eye. based on cat anatomy.
